    Notes 
    • "Eugene Frank Rondot, was born 2-18-1857, on the farm in Jefferson Township, just east of New Haven, Indiana, on the old Edgertown Road. He was the fourth child of a family of fifteen children. His father John August Rondot immigrated to America from Athesans, France, thru the port of Baltimore 7-24-1846, his mother Dorothea Marie Blanchette was a native of Canada.

      When Eugene was about six years old his parents purchased a farm in Washington Township, near Wallen, Indiana and Moved there in the spring of 1863. He attended the rural schools in the area, and worked on the farm until he was a young man. He later took employment with Mr. Fred Rosselot, on East Columbia Street in Fort Wayne.

      On the 7th of May 1885, he married Miss Anna Alice Ervin, here in Allen County (bk16pg287). She was born 2-28-1863, the daughter of Jeremiah Ervin and Rebecca A. Opliger of Washington Township.

      Five children were born of this union, Arthur Charles, 2-23-1886; Edward Milton, 3-24-1888; Grace Margaret, 5-25-1890; Pearl Alice, 4-24-1892; and Earl Eugene, 4-13-1898.

      City directory records indicate that the family lived for many years on Wells Street in Fort Wayne.

      Mrs. Anna Rondot, the mother, passed away in June 1903, at age of 40 years. Her untimely death created a real hardship for the small children and the father Eugene, with the help of the older children and friends the family grew and they all became good men and women of the community.

      Mr. Eugene F. Rondot, died at the age of 73, on 1-31-1929 and was buried at Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne.

      According to his daughter Mrs. Pearl Roesener his body was later moved to Greenlawn Cemetery." [27]

      From city directory we find that Eugene worked as fireman, helper, laborer and watchman for G.R&I R.R., Wabash R.R. Jenney Electric Co., Paul Mfg. Co., Ft. W. Electric Works." [27]
